Resolute Forest Products is a global leader in the forest products industry with a diverse range of products, including market pulp, tissue, wood products, newsprint and paper, which we market in more than 50 countries. We own or operate some 40 facilities, as well as power generation assets, in the United States and Canada. Resolute has third party certified 100% of our managed woodlands to internationally recognized sustainable forest management standards.

As a supplier of choice within our industry, Resolute focuses on maximizing our contributions to the circular economy, reducing our carbon footprint, creating positive social impact and supporting our operating communities. Our fundamental goal is to generate value for the company and shareholders while driving economic activity in a sustainable and responsible way.

Resolute’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance is driven by our leadership on sustainability. We established an ambitious sustainability strategy in 2011 and have been reporting annually on our public commitments according to the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) ever since. We have received regional, North American and global recognition for our leadership in ESG reporting, corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

The importance of good quality ESG disclosures has never been more urgent, particularly in light of our need to address the global challenge of climate change, COVID-19 and the social justice movement. In response, Resolute developed a suite of leaflets in 2021 that improve access to and the availability of our ESG reporting.

Our ESG at Resolute leaflet is a thorough, high-level synopsis of Resolute’s sustainability strategy and ESG performance, highlighting our leadership and key achievements. Designed to be an inviting and easy-to-read briefing document, it is broadly targeted to all of Resolute’s key stakeholders, including employees, the communities we serve and our business partners, in addition to the financial and investment community.

We have received extremely positive feedback that it is a valuable tool for our marketing, community relations and investor relations teams to describe and promote Resolute’s sustainability programs and ESG performance in meetings, and ultimately deepening our level of engagement and trust with these key stakeholder groups.
