Since the start of their operations in 2001, AirAsia has grown extensively in the number of their passengers as well as their fleet and has managed to be named as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the annual Skytrax World Airlines Awards for the 10th time in a row since 2009. As the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, AirAsia also aims to be a globally recognized ASEAN brand. To do that, AirAsia briefed us on the kind of annual report that they were looking for. An annual report that best reflects their numerous achievements and awards. As the appointed agency working on their annual report, we faced a number of challenges in producing the book. First challenge was to come up with the concept. We wanted to maintain their brand as a focal point but also highlight their achievements and awards, exclusively. Second challenge was to decide on which gold colour looks more extravagant as the base colour of the book. And the third challenge was the 5-colour printing. There were so many problems that occurred throughout the printing process, and it was an experience that required many eyes and opinions to overcome the issue. In the end, we did it. We produced an annual report that screams elegance from the cover to the last page. We overcame the challenges that were in our way of producing this extravagant book, and we did it steadily. We hope that this book is everything that our client is looking for, as mentioned in their brief earlier.
