NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD.
NISSIN FOODS has a tradition of engaging readers with surprise and humor while expressing serious and sincere corporate issues. On the 60th anniversary of their invention of Chicken Ramen, the world's first instant noodles, NISSIN FOODS wished to reconfirm its dedication to making the world a better place, as a global company with defining roots in Japan. Driving the theme of this report was the corporate desire to make beneficial contributions to world food culture with instant noodles, a food product originated in Japan. SHIAN and NISSIN FOODS capitalized on these parallels through the metaphor of ukiyo-e woodblock prints, a Japanese art style that influenced the development of impressionism in world art culture. This report opens with Hiroshige-inspired ukiyo-e illustrations in a four-page concertina fold integral with the illustrated cover. A combination of old and modern elements simultaneously expresses a Japanese and global spirit. Details abound to entertain sharp-eyed readers, from paper texturized to look old, to tiny humorous objects, to the portraits of senior executives illustrated in the style of kabuki actors. The objective was a graphic design closely interwoven with the spirit and core message of NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS.
