As a part of Chevrolet’s ongoing commitment to change, the “Discover the Unexpected” fellowship sent journalism and marketing students from historically black colleges and universities to discover “What’s Cool About Electric”. Fellows arrived in Detroit, MI to interview black STEM ambassadors about the necessity of environmentally conscious technology to the black community. The one-one discussion gave DTU fellows the insight necessary to convey the power of electric vehicles, like the new Chevy Bolt EV, from an authentic source. While traditionally people of color are excluded from conversations about the evolution of low emissions vehicles, Chevrolet aims to close that cultural gap through the knowledge of black engineers and the voices of the future.
