With so many worthy nonprofits vying for awareness, one of the greatest challenges these organizations face is marketing their work in a powerful way that illustrates the positive impact they are having in local communities. Through effective storytelling, nonprofits will attract more funding, more constituents, and more volunteers.

Recognizing this critical need, NBCUniversal launched the Creative Impact Lab as the cornerstone of NBCUnites, the company’s social purpose initiative. The Lab provides marketing assets to nonprofit organizations that are created by nonprofit creative agencies, which are comprised of diverse student apprentices. NBCUniversal employees provide mentorship to the apprentices on each project, harnessing their creative expertise to give back in a personally meaningful way.

The marketing and promotional videos receive exposure on Comcast NBCUniversal platforms. Through this unique program, NBCUniversal helps shine a light on the individual positive social impact of nonprofits and empowers the next generation of storytellers who are looking to learn the trade and break into the industry.

Creative Impact Lab exemplifies a strong sense of purpose that creates real human impact and change. It is an innovative approach to corporate social responsibility and nonprofit partnership. The Lab addresses nonprofits’ needs in a way that highlights their social impact by engaging young, diverse apprentices to tell their story, with the help of creative volunteers from NBCUniversal.
