Each year, Power hosts two leadership development conferences in cities which we’ve recently opened an office. These host cities often impact not only the look and feel of the conference, but also have a strong influence on the content of the conference itself. This year’s spring conference was hosted in “The Music City”, Nashville, TN.

The objectives of this piece were to tease content direction to attendees as well as to showcase the unique branding approach our design team took for this event. Branding inspiration was pulled directly from the host city, and we wanted to broadcast not only the final product, but the creative process that lead us there.

It was challenging to identify a letterpress artist in Philadelphia that was willing to work with us and allow us to record their process. The search for an artist was even more difficult because we were looking specifically for an artist who worked with letter pressing and who was a musician.

This video was used before, during and after the conference to further the messaging from the meeting beyond attendees to the rest of the company.

Our team used time-lapse to show not only the entirety of the process but to build the anticipation for the finished product. We also used macro-shots to capture the unique details that the letterpress approach lead to in the printing process. We wanted to capture the entirety of the process and to communicate the intricacies of using a more nuanced and historic approach to printing branding.

As a result, we effectively promoted the overall vibe of the conference prior to employee arrival setting their expectations and building their excitement. It also served as a way to unify conference branding, uniting design, video and content for a more immersive experience.
