Dos Equis recently had dubbed its new tagline "Keep it interesante," and was looking to compliment it with a campaign that could grasp the attention of its fans, as well as integrate their presence as college football's official beer sponsor. Fortunately they found that balance of comedy and wit with a fictional "Head Coach" giving a absurd halftime speech titled "The Comeback."
This campaign series brings the head coach out of the locker room and into reality, as we recruited the actor from the television campaign and brought him into the Heineken USA headquarters, giving him free range to energize the workforce, put forth his knowledge of the game, as well as deliver the beer's stats and provide "encouragement." These internal productions were used to maintain business interest in Dos Equis, while delivering motivation through humor to its brand's vendors, distributors and partners.
Luna Lyte, who has worked with NYC agency Mirrorball for several years now, together took on the production for Dos Equis, their longtime client. This ended up to be a wonderful opportunity to bring a unique fictional character into the real world, putting the actor in unscripted situations, and formulating the story from his brief comical encounters. We payed homage to the famous ESPN office commercials, uniting the sports entertainment world with the world of one of America's most beloved beers. The rapport built with the actor and our small crew allowed for a seamless day of production, giving a wealth of material to the editor to complete 3 distinctive spots for delivery.
