The Man I'd Like to Feed Film

The Man I'd Like to Feed Film(also known as The M.I.L.F. Film) is a groundbreaking 3D animation addressing the injustice women face in modern domesticity. In the film, the housewife willingly takes the serving role, dreaming to see her husband finish all the food she cooks. But when he does not, her desire becomes the whip of anger – She starts feeding him with force. Through a humorous lens, Qinru Zhang, the creator of the animation, sharply reflects the patriarchal control many women face in East Asian households. Qinru Zhang provides cultural insights through The M.I.L.F. Film by pointing out how women's domestic contributions have been taken for granted by the society. Mirroring the powerful female protagonist, Zhang also uses the film as a visual-audio tool to call for female empowerment.

Breaking the boundary of media, Zhang aims to connect with audiences beyond the screen. The project has developed into interactive formats beyond the animation, and later developed into The MILF Collection. The work has been featured in :iidrr Gallery’s ‘Alpha’ Exhibition in New York City, the Palm Springs Animation Festival, the virtual event Avatar GIF, and the Situasian Exhibition in Xiamen.
