KoçSistem, intending to create a difference within its sphere of influence as a technology company, has launched the social responsibility project titled “Family Time”, which draws attention to digital screen dependency of children. With its Education Partner Mother Child Education Foundation (ACEV), KoçSistem increases social awareness on “well balanced use of technology” within family.

The project proceeds along two main courses. KoçSistem started the #haydikapatalım (let us turn it off) movement as the first step, inviting parents to take Family Time break for no more than one hour from 7 to 8 pm every day. The parents are called upon to turn off all screens and spend time with their children at “screen free” activities during this time within or outside their homes. The screen free activity alternatives for families are listed in the project web site ailesaati.kocsistem.com.tr. Thanks to the cooperation with Hasbro, age appropriate toys were delivered to 60 “influencer” mothers for their children, and games within family are supported.

The second aspect of the project is training. The awareness activities are strengthened with the face to face training programs offered through the Mom Support and Dad Support Programs of ACEV. We have reached out to 750 parents through the 94 courses opened in Istanbul and Izmir so far. The number of parents will be 1,330 by June 2020. Also, KoçSistem volunteers provide training to parents on “Secure Use of Internet” and “New Trends in Technology”.
