Experience Kissimmee engaged in a made-for-the-weekend partnership with Chubbies—a popular men’s apparel brand known for radical shorts.

We recognized Chubbies for their engaged audience of American millennial men and their hilarious sketch comedy, creative campaigns, successful past partnerships, and the synergy between their line of swimwear and the sought-after, sunny vacation destination.

The Chubbies team spent a week in Kissimmee shooting assets to promote its new line of apparel. Chubbies gathered assets to promote the destination in a video editorial featuring many of EK’s partners, in addition to comedic Instagram stories where they tagged EK in every slide.

The goals were to:

Receive high quality assets of the destination and partners

Generate new email leads via the sweepstakes

Expand brand awareness & grow following

To experiment and be a leader in the content partnership space

To amplify the partnership, EK launched a contest in tandem with the destination video which was supported by paid media. Chubbies promoted the video & sweepstakes to their subscribers via a dedicated newsletter and by sharing with their social media audience. EK released a ‘behind-the-scenes’ blog post, social posts, and press release.

Results:

Compared to the same 30-day period in 2018, the EK website saw:

81.65% increase in users from New York

305% increase from Chicago

485% increase from Houston

118.32% increase in sessions

92.45% increase in users

Additional Results:

53,105 sweepstakes landing page views

2,987 engagements on Chubbies posts

97,000+ destination video views

66% increase in use of #MyKissimmee & 15% increase in use of the EK handle during campaign

9,498 new email subscribers

47,704 total entries

600+ HQ drone video clips & photo assets

Minimum total campaign value of $40.6K USD based on reach + engagement of Chubbies’ posts alone. Value of asset creation, endorsement, & email leads not included.

EK won a GlobalTrends Award for the campaign before it had even ended.
