OlliOlli World: Void Riders

The accolades started piling up for OlliOlli World, so the team over at Roll7 wanted to shred while the wheels were still spinning and drop their first DLC trailer. This new content brought in fresh physics, maps, and new acquaintances to encounter along the journey, all enveloped in an extraterrestrial-inspired package that showcases their distinct art style.
The combination of critical acclaim, press endorsements, and the overall tone of OlliOlli World served as the catalyst for a playful trailer idea. Drawing inspiration from the extravagant Hollywood trailers of the 80s and 90s, the trailer embraced a tongue-in-cheek approach, complete with narration reminiscent of the style of Don Lafontaine.
To kick push things off an animated shadow was introduced, trailing our skater through the initial 20 seconds of risers and hits.This time allowed us to establish the stakes through both voiceover and a tantalizing glimpse of an imposing object overhead. The big reveal came in the form of the mothership, showcasing its tractor beam capabilities, and antigravity magnificence, all while our hero flawlessly executed a "Christ Air." The music surges, a direct selection from the game's eclectic OST, leading up to the iconic line, "coming this summer." The ensuing blend of catchy tricks, motion-tracked environmental commendations, a commanding voiceover delivery, clever scripting, and a punchy chill-hop track left the audience with an exhilarating anticipation.
