The Beastwatch Aeternum parody, created by LAYER, was designed to introduce the mysterious and exciting arrival of the Hippo Burley mount in New World: Aeternum. Our role included trailer concept, copywriting, game capture, and video editing to create a fun, engaging, and visually dynamic trailer that built anticipation for this new in-game feature.
The trailer concept played off the mysterious lore of hippo sightings in Aeternum, initially dismissed as myths, before revealing that the Hippo Burley mount is now available for purchase in the in-game store. This blend of humor and intrigue was central to the trailer’s tone, aiming to capture the attention of viewers while adding a touch of playful mystery to the game’s world.
Our copywriting reflected this sense of discovery, framing the Hippo Burley as an exciting and unexpected addition to the game. The script teased the long-rumored sightings and the surprise reveal, encouraging players to get their hands on this unique mount.
Game capture was vital in showcasing the Hippo Burley mount in action. We carefully selected moments that highlighted the mount's design and how it would look in various environments, ensuring the footage matched the trailer’s lighthearted and adventurous tone. Motion graphics were used sparingly to add emphasis and enhance the reveal of the mount’s arrival.
The video editing created a smooth flow, ensuring the trailer maintained a playful and engaging pace from start to finish. The result was a short but captivating trailer that piqued curiosity and invited players to explore the new mount feature.
The Beastwatch Aeternum social video effectively introduced the Hippo Burley mount with a fun, engaging narrative and polished visuals. Through LAYER’s expertise, the parody became an exciting and memorable announcement that added personality and excitement to New World: Aeternum.
