As the top-grossing Chinese female singer in concert ticket sales, Angela Zhang led all domestic female artists in both the number of concerts and audience reach from 2023 to 2024, with nearly 2 million people attending her performances annually in China. Her music has accompanied the growth of three generations—those born in the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s—conveying positive energy and shaping a culturally significant landscape rooted in China.
*“The Lamp”* serves as the central interlude VCR of Angela Zhang’s 2025 “Seeking Light” tour. Through it, she aims to express stories from China alongside universal human values. Centered around the concept of a "genie lamp," the piece depicts people making wishes—for sudden wealth, love, or eternal youth—only for them to ultimately fall short. When the genie disappears, they come to realize that only they themselves can light their own lamp. This idea reflects Zhang’s personal belief: “Life is achieved through one’s own efforts; wishes alone lead nowhere.” Through this concert, she hopes to inspire audiences with this empowering message.
