Their eCommerce platform couldn’t handle the complexity of their B2B operations, often experiencing fragmented integrations, manual workflows, and billions of unique pricing permutations.
To meet the demands of a modern, data-driven enterprise, Lawson partnered with Codal to completely reimagine its digital ecosystem. Our goal: architect a scalable, high-performing platform that modernizes B2B commerce, empowers field sales, and delivers a seamless customer experience.
Through a rigorous discovery process, Codal identified Shopify Enterprise as the ideal foundation for Lawson’s transformation. The solution involved a complete replatforming and data migration, including over 300,000 products, 130,000 active companies, and 9 billion pricing variations, supported by real-time integrations with Lawson’s SAP and Stibo systems. We engineered a custom Hydrogen-based application and a sophisticated pricing engine that dynamically manages customer-specific pricing, state-based rules, and discounts with precision.
The new B2B portal introduced tiered account permissions, multi-level quoting and approvals, and role-based catalog visibility, streamlining workflows for both customers and sales representatives. Enhanced mobile functionality ensures Lawson’s field teams can search, scan, and order products on the go, while a React Native app for sub-brand Kent Automotive enables barcode scanning and offline access.
Every integration, including SAP, Mulesoft, Vertex, Algolia, HubSpot, and more, was orchestrated to deliver speed, accuracy, and compliance. Built with scalability in mind, the system now powers multiple brands and regions, supporting future growth through Shopify Markets.
