Wind characterizes the most profound and everyday imprint of Yunlin.
In this deeply spiritual town, wind flows through rolling rice paddies, industrial hubs, and temple courtyards, acting as a local force that continuously shapes and conveys Yunlin culture.
The 2025 Yunlin Design Week, themed “Yunlin Flow,” adopts “wind” as its core imagery. Through four distinct layers—Life, Making, Action, and Sound—design week explores the diverse expressions across terroir, industry, and cultural soundscapes. The exhibition encompasses the multifaceted nature of Yunlin’s lifestyle, industry, and cultural identity. This “wind” is the culmination of over a decade of creative energy, nurtured through initiatives such as the Yunlin Good Store Selection, the Cultural and Creative Industry of Yunlin, the Youth Innovation Initiatives, and the Yunlin Design Awards. It ensures that local culture continues to be passed down across generations.
Yunlin Design Week has successfully integrated over 140 featured local shops, 20 youth initiatives, more than 50 craft works, 100+ local brands, and over 200 creative works by young designers. Spanning 105 days, it attracted over 16,000 visitors through its main exhibition, three satellite exhibitions, 10 local youth-led workshops, 160+ market vendors, and a master lecture.
Here, design is more than a final product; it is a methodology for translating local identity, developing cultural contexts, and facilitating co-creation. It enables Yunlin to be truly understood and seen.
This time, the Yunlin wind rises—flowing from the local to the global.
