We're Orrbitt Creative Group. We're an award-winning creative agency for the life sciences, biotech, & pharma industries. To promote ourselves to biotech companies, we spent some advert bucks with Life Sciences Review Magazine, both print & digital. Our Orrbitt brand uses an astronomy/space theme; it’s big & macro & infinite out there. Biotech is small & micro & also fractally infinite. This scaling conundrum confounds us perpetually. We wanted to showcase the modern-day Renaissance of medicine to our audience; primarily early-stage biotech & pharma companies. We combed through thousands of microscopic images of cells, proteins, viruses, antigens & antibodies and yelled “Holy Roman Empire!” when we found the image. We didn’t photoshop it; it naturally looked like a satellite image of Italy. And the rest created itself. Since we wanted a print edition hanging around healthcare conferences, life science trade shows, and biotech venture capital summits, we designed the advert to flip 180°. A little “Ah-haaa” moment when the viewer makes the mirrored visual connection of the Italian Renaissance of the 15th & 16th centuries with today’s Renaissance of medical innovations.
