To commemorate the D-Day landing to free Europe in World War II and to encourage Texas Veterans to share their stories on the Voice of Veterans podcast, the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) requested a compelling video for use across social media channels and broadcast TV. An audio recording from Tech Sergeant Brown recounting his experience on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, was matched to captivating 3D animation depicting a soldier storming the beaches of Normandy. The match-up of a toy-like soldier animation with the raw audio realistically highlights the energy and sacrifice of the dangers faced running on to the beach. The creative captured Brown's trepidation with remembrance and his abundance of pride in serving the cause of freedom. Veterans reported they could see themselves in the animation, and the video helped drive an increase in Veterans sharing their stories of sacrifice and service.
Tech Sergeant Brown served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart for his service.
