Moonbreaker - Early Access Gameplay Trailer

We had the pleasure to create the 2023 gameplay trailer for Unknown Worlds' latest adventure, Moonbreaker. To create this wonderful asset, we took out our paints and began coloring the world.

We were tasked with creating the trailer from concept to completion. To do this, we had to take care of all gameplay capture, editing, motion graphics, cinematics, animation, VFX, and overall production polish.

From the very beginning, Unknown Worlds were clear they wanted this trailer to hit new heights. They wanted it to showcase the painting aspect of the game in an extensive way, and showcase how exciting and interesting the gameplay, characters, and ability combos can be. We spent a considerable amount of time breaking down the game into its various pillars, and experimenting with different capture techniques, animations, and more to find the right feel for the trailer.

Opening with lore from the game, crafted by Brandon Sanderson, and supported by our 2.5D animations of the game's universe, we created a structure that allowed us to hook the viewer with the rich story of the game. We followed it up by showcasing the basic gameplay loop and an incredibly extensive view of the painting system, using a mix of custom paint jobs done for the models in-game. We then built the motion graphics text in full 3D to replicate the visual brand of the game, as well as creating several 2D animations to showcase the act of building a roster, customizing your paint palettes, and more.

The final trailer premiered alongside the newest update for Moonbreaker.
