Polo in China is a pictorial book that chronicles the history of polo. This book divides the content into two parts: ancient and modern, utilizing both classical and modern layout styles. This enhances its expressiveness while better showcasing the different characteristics of cultural relics and historical photographs. The black divider pages utilize a timeline to connect the ancient and modern sections, paired with the display of paintings and calligraphy works, adding to the collectible value of the book. Through three different perspectives in three sections, it presents readers with a more comprehensive view of its artistic features.
In addition, this book has made many attempts in craftsmanship. The cut corners at the book’s edge highlight the timeline so that the contents are more closely linked. The hardcover craftsmanship coupled with a flexible spine makes the hefty book delicate and easy to flip through. As the pages turn, the shape of the spine continuously fluctuates up and down, accompanying the rhythm and rhyme of the content inside, providing readers with a more dynamic reading experience.
While balancing the beauty of the classical and the modern, this book strives to portray the flowing grace and refined elegance of polo as a sport, allowing readers to fully appreciate the charm of the game during the reading process.
