ITRI, a member of the High Level Forum (HLF), and host of the 2024 HLF Summit, strategically promoted the event to amplify brand awareness of both organizations. This PR campaign successfully attracted coverage, garnering significant media attention and global visibility.
This campaign featured several strategies:
1. Driving Pre-Event Promotion
To drive pre-event promotion, ITRI released a 60-second teaser on Facebook, Instagram, and X to unveil the event theme and its debut in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The video also included a warm welcome invitation from HLF Summit Co-Chair Stephen Su, adding a human touch that engaged the audience.
2. Creating Compelling Pitches
Pitching centered both on ITRI and Taiwan hosting the event for the first time and on the gathering of over 250 experts from the world’s top innovation ecosystems, including keynote speaker Patrick Bressler, a key advocate for the EU Chips Act. His presence embodies Taiwan’s role as a hub to strengthen the network of innovation communities. This outreach generated strong interest among journalists, securing a front-page story in the Taipei Times, a leading English-language newspaper in Taiwan.
3. Integrating Digital and Social Media
ITRI posted vibrant event photos and videos daily on social media platforms, securing over 300,000 views. These eye-catching materials allowed viewers to share timely, exciting updates, thus maximizing promotional effectiveness.
4. Distributing Theme-Focused Press Releases
ITRI crafted two press releases, one focusing on the forum, and the other on Startup Day, to engage different audience groups for precise marketing. Distribution targeted Taiwan, where the summit took place; the U.S., home to mainstream media; and Western Europe, where the HLF was founded. The results were remarkable, with coverage by 1,181 media outlets including AP News, AI Magazine, Le Dauphiné Libéré, and the Taipei Times.
The achievements of the PR campaign have been widely recognized. Julie Galland, Director of CEA Research & Technology Division and 2024 HLF Summit Chair, commended ITRI’s efforts in elevating the HLF’s global visibility. Harri Kulmala, CEO of DIMECC Ltd. and 2023 HLF Summit Co-Chair, also praised ITRI as one of the few research technology organizations effectively leveraging digital and social media.
