This film presents a fictional conspiracy narrative to reinterpret the Australian Black Summer fires and their associated data systems. Told from the first-person perspective of a former CSIRO researcher, the story unveils supposed “evidence” from a USB drive, alleging that the fires were not solely caused by climate change, but orchestrated by governments and elites through data manipulation, intentional ignition, population displacement, and land repurposing—culminating in geoengineering efforts. Blending real disaster events with absurd speculation, the project critically explores themes of data control, media influence, and climate crisis. It invites viewers to adopt a deliberately absurd lens to question dominant narratives and reflect on the systems shaping our understanding of catastrophe.
