Compositing Reel David Mateo Gonzalez

Hello, this reel is a compilation of the series in which I have had the honor of participating, such as Avatar The Last Airbender, The Witcher, Vikings. For me it has been a dream to be part of extraordinary teams with very talented people, from whom I have learned a lot.

All the scenes are technically complex.
The first CGI scene was very complex because the monster had to have an organic character and be well integrated with the scene's surroundings. The shot is dark and had to be very realistic. All the elements had to be perfectly integrated: the mountain, the monster, and the flames launched from catapults.

The second scene, also from Avatar: The Last Airbender, had to integrate the FX elements created by the VFX department. The integration had to be controlled so that all the elements were visible, including the monster, which had an organic character, the explosion, the highlights, and also the black colors of the scene to integrate them with the explosion.

The third scene is from The Witcher. Hands had to be erased to integrate the smoke and disintegration of the actors, done by the VFX department.

The fourth scene is from The Witcher. Chroma Key and rotoscoping were required to integrate the time-worm elements into the scene. It was a very complex scene on a technical and artistic level.

The fifth scene is from The Witcher. 3D tracking and Chroma Key were required to integrate the dragon and the sword. I have to thank my supervisor for his help in this scene, given the complexity of the scene.

The sixth scene is technically very demanding, as it involved sky replacement and rotoscoping to integrate the time-worm ring with the actress. It was a very spectacular scene, but extremely difficult.

The seventh scene is from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Integrating water as an element from the VFX department is the scene I enjoyed most, as the water created by the VFX department was simply spectacular.
