Going From Broke is an original reality series exclusively on Crackle, a free ad-supported entertainment network, created by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment and executive produced by Ashton Kutcher. The show takes recent college graduates who are drowning in tens of thousands of dollars of debt and with the help of hosts Dan Rosensweig, CEO of Chegg, and financial expert, Danetha Doe aim to empower them to reverse their economic situations.

The team behind Going From Broke didn’t want to stop by simply entertaining our audience. Americans now owe over $1.6 TRILLION in student loans. The student debt crisis is one of the most important issues facing our country. In order to provide assistance and information to our viewers we created an additional website for the show, GoingFromBroke.info. We drove traffic to the site using a bumper at the end of each episode where the host directed viewers to the URL. We also launched a social media campaign with our sponsorship partners such as Chegg and Acorns who drove traffic to the info site as well as the show on Crackle.

The site contains articles written by our team to help viewers learn how to best manage their debt. Responsible credit card use, curbing impulse buying, and avoiding predatory loans are all subjects touched on. We also give visitors commentary by financial thought-leaders Danetha Doe, Farnoosh Torabi, and Jean Chatzky, and dozens of links to resources such as financial nonprofits, debt calculators, and podcasts on spending and saving from many top personalities in the field.

To date we have had thousands of visitors to the site and the feedback has been very positive. The show has received rave reviews and has been featured in Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Money, Variety, Deadline, Business Insider, and dozens of other publications and garnered over 15 million views on Crackle where it exclusively airs. The show has been so successful that a second season is in the process of being produced.
