Our cover story for this edition highlighted how financial criminals are using technology to conduct identity theft. Every new digital advance made in society is allowing criminals to exploit these new technologies by stealing and amassing numerous identities at one time. Gone are the days when criminals would steal one identity at a time. Now they steal millions at once and they meld together all these identities to perform nefarious crimes. The cover depicts a mash-up of a typical hooded cybercriminal with a Hispanic woman. There are pixels combining the images of the two, depicting the process as the cybercriminal steals the woman’s identity.
Cover uses matte paper with spot varnish to emphasize the transition between the cybercriminals and the woman’s identities.
