The Localized Marketing Benchmark Report (LMBR) is an annual report by SOCi that focuses on how marketers can drive their digital visibility by leveraging channels most important to modern consumer decision-making — namely local search, social media, and local ratings and reviews.
SOCi’s LMBR is the most comprehensive multi-location benchmark report available to digital marketers. In 2022, the report evaluated nearly 300 multi-location brands and over 12.9 billion data points to identify key takeaways for brands looking to learn how a localized marketing strategy can help drive more visibility, traffic, and sales into their local locations. The most recent iteration of the report was released in April 2022, with the fifth consecutive edition of the report being launched in May 2023.
SOCi created the LMBR for multi-location marketers tasked with measuring digital performance across hundreds of locations and multiple platforms. Using the LMBR, brands can compare themselves to industry leaders on multiple platforms, including Google, Yelp, and Facebook. Additionally, they can better prioritize localized marketing efforts across locations.
In creating the LMBR, SOCi sought to provide a resource that brands could utilize to understand the factors that drive today’s consumers to stores through digital channels. The LMBR analyzes 100 metrics related to search, social, and reputation factors to clarify priorities in localized digital marketing today.
In the 2022 version of the report, SOCi audited 291 brands across 230,000 locations, 690,000 location pages, 23 million local posts, 97.4 million local reviews, 33.9 million review responses and 5.7 billion total engagements.
The LMBR is the only report of its kind, helping to build localized marketing as a category, establish SOCi as an industry leader and show large brands’ success metrics to help multi-location marketers build their localized efforts.
