The construction industry is a historically male dominated one. At Power, we have found that women perform just as well as men company-wide. In order to defy the stigmas of the industry, we spoke with some of our top performing female employees to learn more about what makes them successful at Power.
This video was developed leading up to our annual Women’s Summit. Our objectives were not only to highlight the success of women within our walls, but to reassure others that they can find the same success here.
The video was released in a conference setting with the primary audience being conference attendees, but the video was developed with our recruitment audience as the primary target. We intended for this video to break the perception that a construction company is not a place for women to succeed and to help recruitment efforts to increase female headcount within the organization.
Our video team worked with representatives from Power’s Women’s Initiative to develop the concept and interview questions for the video. A committee member even traveled with the team to assist with the interview process to be sure we captured the Initiative’s mission.
With an event reschedule, and a just a few weeks to shoot and edit more 4 conference videos, the team had to work intelligently and efficiently to make deadlines while delivering high quality content.
The video release was highly successful during the Summit, and the content was exceedingly well received by internal audiences. As an extension of the “I Work at Power Because…” series it further diversified the appearance of ‘success’ in a male dominated work environment. Externally, this video performs especially well in terms of views and impressions relative to our other video content.
