"Atlas of Life" is a 3-minute graphic essay that investigates the intersection between the living and the non-living from a metaphysical perspective. It explores the potentiality of life and its evolution in response to the rapid rise of LLM and AI technologies. What constitutes living organisms? Can we expand the notion of life through a lens of boundless movement and intrinsic needs? What paradigm shifts enable us to set foot in uncharted territories of living beings?
By creating a visual vocabulary corresponding to synthetic aesthetics, the work reinterprets these representations within a hybrid frame work of construction, creative execution, and interaction. Using a personally curated dataset of paintings, collages, and photographs, visuals were generated in Stable Diffusion, constructing a synthetic aesthetic that reinterprets organic forms. This project is an outwardly-oriented invitation — asking audiences to join a collective entity of "us", traverse through time and transcend into a grander existence.
