Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup kicked off in 2023, becoming the first international competition in the world-famous open-world action-adventure game Genshin Impact. After the most decisive and skilled players worldwide were selected, Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup Invitational was set to be the final stage of the championship’s first season.
The tournament was held offline, with only players and hosting staff present at the WePlay Esports Arena Los Angeles. Spectators could watch the competition online during the live broadcast on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
WePlay Studios became the official production partner of Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup Invitational. We set ourselves the task of recreating and conveying the atmosphere of Genshin Impact Monstadt tavern so that viewers worldwide could feel part of the game and Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup Invitational, as if they were attending in person. Using computer graphics and augmented reality, we exceeded expectations and designed a site where the line between the real and fictional worlds blurred.
The live broadcast of Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup Invitational lasted four hours and 40 minutes. At its peak, the show was watched by 22,507 viewers, with a total of 42,526 hours watched.
